Gig Mill Primary School
Together we care, together we succeed
About Us
Gig Mill Primary School was established in 1984 by the amalgamation of the previous Junior and Infant Schools. Both of the original schools were built in the 1950's - with spacious classrooms, halls, and a school kitchen. Our Nursery was added in 1991. In 2015 improvements were made to the dinner hall, play spaces and outdoor classrooms created along with three new classrooms as part of the local authority, 'place planning' with an extra fifteen school places for each of the next three years.

The school is situated on the edge of Stourbridge in a pleasant, residential area and the children come from a mixture of private and council housing. The school is set in its own extensive grounds with playing fields, gardens and a swimming pool. Throughout school there are extensive play areas and designated spaces for younger and older children.
Currently we have over 591 pupils on the roll of the school from Reception - Year 6. Within the school we have a large staff of teachers, HLTA's, Teaching Assistants, Office Staff, Site Managers, Dinner Supervisors alongside visiting music teachers and sports coaches.
The school is organised into stages, Foundation Stage (Nursery & Reception), Lower School (Years 1 & 2), Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 & 4) and Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 & 6), with teams of teachers working together to provide the very best in education. We accommodate the Primary ASD Resource Base for eight children in the Dudley area on the school site for the local authority. This structure allows for the maximum use of specialist skills and creates a framework within which we offer excellent pastoral care of all our pupils. Together we care, together we succeed.
We are proud of our transition both for children joining our school, moving to new year groups and leaving us in Year 6. Many Gig Mill pupils go on to attend local secondary schools, Redhill Secondary School and Ridgewood High School, some pupils go to Oldswinford Hospital School, Kinver High School, King Edward VI Five Ways School or private education.
